Gary is a Certified Public Accountant who earned his Bachelor's and his Master's degrees in Accounting at Brigham Young University. Before joining the firm, Gary spent several years working in the Portland office of national accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP.  There Gary gained valuable training and experience working with individuals and small to midsize businesses on tax-related matters.

At Jones, Ham & Cluff, Gary works with closely held family businesses and individuals on tax, financial reporting, and planning issues.  Gary's joy in working comes from seeing his clients succeed in their business and financial goals.  According to Gary, "One of the most exhilarating parts of working with the firm is seeing our clients take an idea and turn it into a profitable venture. At the firm we really care about our clients and their success.  Our clients are outstanding people, and it is a pleasure to work and interact with them."

When he is not at the office, Gary can be found spending time with his wife Julie and their six children.  Three of Gary's favorite activities are hiking in the Gorge as a family, jogging with Julie, and watching the children play soccer.
